ABOUT US

We are a foster based rescue dedicated to the rescue of, not just labs and lab mixes, but any precious pup in danger of euthanasia. Our group is comprised of all volunteers in the Eastern US who love dogs and want to help those that end up homeless through no fault of their own.

To the best of our ability, we evaluate all of our dogs temperament and suitability for living with other dogs, cats, and children.

We rescue vulnerable dogs regardless of their breed, age, size, and medical history from underserved shelters and communities in the deep south, where high kill shelters rely on euthanasia to maintain over population.

Upon rescue, all of our dogs receive veterinary care including vaccinations, deworming and flea/tick & heartworm preventatives.

In some cases, this includes surgery and other specialist vet care.

If the dog is of age, they are spayed/neutered and heartworm tested.

Any illnesses or injuries we are not aware of before adoption or that arise after adoption are solely the responsibility of the adopter.

Since we do not have a shelter, we rely on foster families to provide care, training, and lots of love, which ultimately improves successful adoption outcomes. The more foster homes we have, the more dogs we can save.  Our goal is to meet the needs of each dog as an individual and to assure proper placement in a loving forever home.

Our foster homes work with our dogs to determine temperament as well as the requirements for each specific dog so that we can place them in a home that will fit their needs.

The process to adopt a FTLOL Dog includes:

  • completion of an application

  • phone interview

  • veterinary reference & personal references

  • home visit

  • Non-refundable adoption fee of $495 which helps to offset vetting and transporting our rescue dogs

  • adoption agreement & spay/neuter agreement

We strive to match the right dog to the right family so that all will have many happy years together. Each of our dogs now have a new chance at life – all For the Love of Labs!

**Not ready to adopt but want to help?!?  Our 501(c)(3) non-profit rescue runs solely on fundraising efforts, adoption donation fees and monetary donations.  Click on ANY of the "DONATE" buttons on our website to help!  No amount is too small!  (all donations are tax deductible and non-refundable)
